Dear Liverymen and Clerks,

We have a NEW venue for 2023 at The West London Shooting School.

Please see our new web page which has all the details.

The departure from Holland & Holland was very sad after 29 years – but they were unable to accommodate our request, and that of the Liveryman who attended, to return to the BBQ format we had enjoyed pre Covid for the lunch.

Both Chris and I would like to thank Chris Bird in particular, for providing excellent shooting for every year that the event was at H&H.

But we have a new opportunity at West London Shooting School – a bigger and better shooting layout with more stands and a new 2 man Grouse Flush.

We will return to having a Marquee on the lawn for breakfast and lunch enabling everyone to be in one space, and in the event of rain dry!

Mark Heath at WLSS is working with us on delivering a challenging but fun shooting experience and Chris de Camara will be looking after all the food and drinks side.

Getting to WLSS should be easier – access off the A40 at Northolt – and plenty of on site parking.

We have enjoyed a fabulous deal with H&H which was negotiated pre covid and came to an end this year.  As I explained to Liveryman who attended this year, the costs of clays \ cartridges and the food had all increased and they should be aware that a cost closer to reality was inevitable for next year.

We have with much help from WLSS, been able to limit the uplift for 2023 to £235.00 inc Vat per gun or £940.00 per team.

This is much cheaper than the average Charity Day – but to remind everyone – the purpose of the day is to enable Liveryman from all Livery Company’s to have a day together. To meet new people and renew old friendships.

But – there is also an opportunity to raise money for Charities of the winners choice as well as the Lord Mayors Appeal and Princes Trust which we have supported since the events first year.

So in summing up:

The breakfast will be the usual baps and lunch will return to a buffet BBQ style – a menu will be published in a newsletter in the New Year – the shooting will be different and fun including shooting more stands in the day – in fact we have ADDED ten more birds per person !

Entries are open now although I don’t expect a rush until the New Year, but please NOTE the day you are drawn to shoot and advise your team members to save the day.

We can in exceptional circumstances move teams about – but are limited to 250 guns per day maximum – please speak to Chris soonest if you need to change the day.

We look forward to seeing you in 2023.

Kind regards

Chris and Richard
